England seems to be full of bright accents. I took lots of snaps of these examples in the Glastonbury area in Spring, and I saw more in London. Perhaps it’s the nice matte grey sky’s that make these colorful accents pop. But it could also be that the city is so historic that one way to update things is to add color. I loved how the city felt low and quaint and accessable, especially in contrast to high-rise mid-town NYC, where I work. I think it’s also something very European, to see little doorways painted bright colors, little accents that you don’t see in strip-malls of anywhere, usa. Delightful!

the bright colors make up for the gray-damp-raw-dismal weather, the pretensious-emotionless-spineless-cultureless-binge drinking-people and the tastless-disgusting-bland-marmite infested fried food……. there is nothing GREAT about britain other than indian curry! sorry rose, you are now american and thank you to the immigrants who add flavOUr and spice!
malls of america??? lets take a look at our AMERICA on the positive side for once. new england clam bakes with luscious maine lobsters dripping with butter and a good ole’ coca cola! NYC…a city that never sleeps! as soon as the BBC looks further into new orleans past katrina, they will discover cajun zydeco music, the birth place of jazz, creole voices and jambalaya. what about the mississippi delta and texas blues? tex mex?how about sweet home chicago? you want the best bbq in the world go to ST.LOUIS and listen to some real music…chuck berry who inspired brit rock! rocky mountain high! a california coastal route that rivals the amalfi coast in italy? well, maybe not, but america has better oak barrel wine than any french frog can produce! seattle grunge!!!!!! fender guitars! gibson guitars! james brown, hip hop, blue grass, green grass and da list gows awn n awn!!!!!
