I think it was my 23rd birthday in Pittsburgh and a group of friends planned a birthday gathering for me.

All was going well and drinks were flowing, until they brought the cake out and started singing happy birthday. Halfway through, everyone stopped and just mumbled. The cake had written on it “HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAUL,” instead of SAL. Come to find out, the cake was from a Jewish bakery down the road. My first kosher birthday cake….

My fav B-day story was my 22rd me and a group of my friends went to Bubbles the best all inclusive party. The party was outdoors and there was a thunderstorm by the time we left we were all socked and tipsy + I got it on tape for life.

cheers to all the drunken wet parties.

My 23rd birthday was destined for disaster when my then boyfriend decided to hightail out of town for the occasion. Trying not to get the petty “happy birthday” text from him bring me down, i went to an art gallery opening with my closet friends. Before i know it, my friends had me blindfolded and in car heading to a undisclosed area. From all the places to go to after a classy event, they take to me to the nearest strip club and poured whiskey down my throat. we had so much, we were kicked out, and in birthday girl style i was carried out. Best birthday remedy to kicking a bad boyfriend to the curb!!!!
p.s. i can’t believe i’m following your beautiful mother’s comment with this. but oh well!

Only you would give something away to others on your birthday!

My favorite birthday was probably this past one. It was my first married birthday and my husbo went all out!

I wrote a blog about it here:
    http://wehavebigplans.blogspot.com/2008/01/b-day-hoopla.html

Let’s just say it involved balloons, streamers and shiny happy b-day banners hung in the wee hours of the morning coupled with some gifts from anthropologie! It was le best! :)

Happy Early Birthday to You, Sarah Laws!! I wish I had artwork to send you as a gift, but alas and alack… my creativity lies elsewhere.

My favorite B-Day was number 50. I went up to the hills to target shoot with one of my son-in-laws, and was to be back so a whole group of us could go to the factory outlet store’s in woodburn. Actualy that was just a way to get me back from the hills for my surprise party.
Long story short, I said to my son in law, “the later we get back the less time we will have to shop with the girls.
Well the keg was almost empty, and I was already drunk when we pulled up and saw all the people. I sobbed because I was so touched.

    Happy b-day to you sweetie.

    oh this is so pretty.
hmmm, i have lots of good bday memories! but i think the funniest thing that ever happened to me was when i turned 30, i woke to the BIGGEST zit in the world on my chin. what’s funny is i have rarely ever had acne in my life, and the day i become an adult (in my mind 30 was an ADULT.) SURPRISE. ahhh, humbling.

    i hope you have a lovely b’day!

My favorite birthday memory was turning 21 in Itlay. I had lived there all year and had been able to drink in the bars. So when my the day came my Italian friends did the best they could to make it an experience worth remembering…knowing it was a big deal in America!

    Happy Birthday, Sarah!!!
