I am now a blond, and Cowboy loves me even more because he says we look more related. I’ve been blond before, around 2003 I think, but this time I’m going all the way. I’m going for platinum. It will take a few sessions of lightening, I’ve already spent 3 hours, through multiple rounds of processing, in order to lift out all of the color my hair has been. Over the next month or two, I will be platinum, and I can’t wait. I have been looking forward to some sort of change, to invite the Springtime in! I cannot explain the fun it is, to do something that feels re-inventive. And after all, it’s just hair. It always grows back, and can always be altered at any moment. Hey, now I match my Mom too!

Also, my talented friend Sarah and I got accepted into the Brooklyn Renegade Craft Fair, which is June 14th and 15th! Wahoo! We are so excited!

It’s that time again, time for a (seems like quarterly) hair switch-up!

Sending you a happy easter from me circa early 80’s. I can remember fond memories of biting the head off of a hollow chocolate bunny as a kid. Pretty violent for a supposed animal-lover! And I’m not even a big chocolate-fanatic, I liked those malt-ball eggs the most, and I can remember the belly aches that came from eating too many of them. Anyways, back next week with more!

It’s my website and I can be vain if I want to!I get my horoscope every single day, emailed to me, but it’s usually the day after that I get it. But today’s horoscope is too amazing not to publish. And I love that I’m a few days from a new moon, and every CANCER knows that they are deeply afftected by any moon activity; e.g. full moon or new moon. Anyways. Here’s what it said: “Not everyone gets you right now, but that’s fine — after all, you know that you have your own special style that can’t be duplicated. Just go your own way for now. Sooner or later your public will come around.” I will be finding my peoples soon! Yay!

So after waiting an hour and a half for the doctor, the nurse decided to test my breathing and scared me by saying I might need a chest x-ray because I might have bronchitus or even worse, pneumonia… then the doc saw me and determined a week of antibiotics and refills of my 3 asthma rx’s would suffice. I’m sick of walking around with a red nose so I bought the luxury kleenex with lotion. And starburst because did i already mention, I waited forever to see the doc? Ok. Let’s talk about something else! Fall is here! People are wearing Fall coats and boots and the weather is grand! Give me the 60’s anyday, I’ll take them over 110! Yeah!

I’m lucky to have friends and family who believe i should spread out my birthday celebrations over the course of a week! Basically, I started celebrating last Wednesday and the festivities will culminate this coming Wednesay, June 28th, when I turn 30! The big 3-0!!!! I have some grey hairs, a few wrinkles (but they are from smiling, I swear!) and a whole new sense of myself; what I want, what I need, what I’m capable of, and what’s important! My already 30-year old friends have told me that the 30’s are the best! 20’s are full of figuring stuff out, but in your 30’s, you get to actually be who you are, because you know!

Thank you so much to my friends in NY for celebrating with me on Saturday! Thanks Rose, Farah, Cynthia, Pilar, Maria, Lydia, Malia and David for coming out on Saturday and surrounding me with love and friendship, and delicious food and drinks!! And to those of you who couldn’t make it, please know that you were missed! And there are still a few days left in my enforced week of celebrating, so see ya’ll Tuesday at Double Happiness in Chinatown?!

Peoples. I will admit that I wore braces, used scrunchies and made little mountains of hair with them on top of my head back in 1992, when i was 15 years old. I will even admit that I was a cheerleader, for one year only, but yes, won the most spirited award from the squad (certainly I wasn’t in the running for the most coordinated award!) And I will also admit that the shorts my Mom is wearing in this picture (in which she is also sporting a perm) used to be mine! That means that I wore them, they are so 80’s and what were we doing wearing them in the 90’s!! Anyhow, I found this photo at my Mom’s house which I recently visited, and I just feel like I need everyone to laugh at it with me, because it’s so silly!
